oh little gilbert. where do i even start? the fact that jeremy is so under-played in his fandom really grates my nerves. sure, he was the annoying kid brother. still is, if you ask elena on the right day, no doubt. but he’s so much more. and not enough people deign to remember that he’s lost just as much as his sister. maybe even more. because all of the things he’s lost (save for his life), he’s never gotten back. it takes courage to get through what he has. and sure, he lost himself along the way a couple of times, but can you blame him? he was a kid. but now he’s a man. a man who lost. who grieved enough for ten people’s lifetimes. a man who lashed out and gave into his vices. but he’s still a man. and more people should remember that. i only follow a couple, but if there were more (and feel free to rec them) i’d follow them all in a heartbeat, because jeremy gilbert has a special place in my heart.
